Barkotel Zemenu

Barkotel Zemenu is a first-year Physics PhD student currently rotating in the Dark Matter Radio research group to search for dark matter with the world's most sensitive radio experiment. Born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, he previously conducted research on experimental neutrino physics at Yale University, theoretical quantum gravity at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and observational astrophysics at the Weizmann Institute of Science. A passionate educator, Barkotel TA-ed several undergraduate classes while at Yale, designed courses for New Haven middle- and high schoolers, and even taught a week-long course in rural China on the Standard Model of Particle Physics.
